Question 1: I would like to know what DNS entries are required to
redirect one domain to another, specifically, I want to redirect
www.domain1.com <http://www.domain1.com/> and domain1.com to
domain2.com What entries need to be set up on the DNS Server to do this?

Question 2: Can a CNAME entry redirect to a URL such as this:
domain.com/page.htm ?

Thanks,

I answered this in windows.server.dns.

For your benefit, it would have been better off if you cross-posted your post and not multi-posted it. This way all answers from either groups would have populated all the groups you posted to and we can colaborate on the responses, instead you having to go to each group and look for responses and us doubling up our efforts.

To cross-post, sinc eyou are using Outlook, all you have to do is click on Newsgroups, and select the two (or more) newsgroups. You will see this post in both groups, since that is what I did with this post.

Thanks Ace. I didn't know about cross posting! Great tip. I had some
additional questions which I posted in the windows.server.dns thread, if
you have a minute to take a look.

Thanks again,

Hmmmm..well I just tried cross-posting, but Outlook won't allow me to
select two newsgroup folders. Maybe it's because I'm using a
newsgroup/newsreader plug-in for Outlook 2003 called MAPILab NNTP. :-(

I would be surprised if a newsreader client or plug in doesn't give you that feature. Maybe need to set your options or view to advanced.
