No, I'm sorry but this is not the right newsgroup for this question since it
has nothing to do with the Windows XP operating system.

Consider doing some research with Google and/or Wikipedia to learn about
domain names and web hosting.

A more generalized, very friendly web forum where you might get help is
ComputerHaven (www.computerhaven.info).

How much money you want to spend, how long you want to keep it, where you
will be hosting/parking it, whom to buy it from.

By the way - this has nothing at all to do with Windows XP.

Search on Google using "purchase domain name" and you'll get lots of
hits.

Also try a search on
good domain name
for more direct details.

Or try them on your own favorite search engine; likely to get similar
responses.
If you already have a server company chosen, they're very likely also
able to help you.

You're actually OT here as others have mentioned.

Suggest you buy direct from a reputable registrar. These days this should
cost no more than a few dollars, and is a simple process.

Main trap to avoid is to allow a webdesign firm to register one for you.
The webdesigner then has by the proverbial round objects, and you have no
control over the domain, hosting, email services, or whatever.
