Hello all,
I upgraded my DC from Win NT4 to Win2000 server,
and set a new Domain name for domain 2000(Nt domain name
was "explor" new domain name is oil.com and the name of my
NT DC computer was ntserver that I didn't change it).
Now when I join to oil.com and I want to login, my domain
name still is "explor"(in login dialog box) and when I want
map a network drive I must type \\ntserver.explor\g$
instead of \\ntserver\g$.By the way all of my clients is
win2000 pro.
Could you please help me?
Thank you.

1. In the logon dialog you are seeing NetBios domain name and this is
expected behavior. Alternatively you can use UPN to logon to your domain. To
do this use username@domaindnsname instead of username. You will notice
Domain combo box greyed out.
2. Can you ping your server by his netbios name ? What about using FQDN in
form of ntserver.oil.com for network mappings ? Also make sure, that you are
pointing your clients and servers DNS settings to your internal DNS server
not to your isp's.
