Domain name for stand alone server

I am trying to install Oracle9iAS. It is asking me to edit
the System32/drivers/etc/host file to set the fully
qualified domain name with Ip address mapping. How to set
this name for 127.0.0.1 for local host or NetBios system
name.

In your hosts file:

127.0.0.1 oraclemachinename.yourdomainname.com

Then save it. If this is not what you're looking for, I would suggest to
contact Oracle to see exactly what it needs.
