Domain Migration

We are currently running 2 domains within our network. 1
is an old NT 4 domain and the other is an Active
Directory windows 2000 domain. We are trying to use the
Microsoft Active directory migration tool. It wants our
target domain which is 2k to be in Native mode. Now if
we switch over to native mode will that damage the trust
we have between the 2 domains? We want to slowly migrate
off of Nt into our Active Directory, will switching to
native mode allow us to do that?
 
Switching to Native mode will not damage the trust. Native mode allows you
to have a trust to a NT 4.0 domain. It does not allow you to have NT BDCs
in native mode domain.
