Domain Controllers

I am trying to build a Win2k network with two domain
controllers. Now I have created the first domain
controller using DCPROMO and that installed the DNS
service on that particular Win2k Server. On the second
server that is meant to be a domain controller there seems
to be some problem. When I take off the domain controller
that I created first the second domain controller doesn't
take over and I can't view anything in active directory. I
have figured out thats because the DNS service has not
been configured on the second domain controller. In brief
how can i create two domain controllers so that when one
goes down the other one is self sufficient ?. I want to be
able to create two domain controllers that have the same
priority as each other and DNS service installe on both.
Any special steps that I need to take?

You should configure your DNS zones as AD integrated and the 2nd DC as a DNS
server.

You need to add DNS to the 2nd DC, AD-Integrated, preferably. AD is
dependent on DNS to locate resources.
The first DC in the forest will have all of the FSMO roles by default, see
KB article 197132, for the details
