Domain controller roles

I have two domain controllers in my organization. The
primary domain controller had to be demoted so that all
the major roles are being controlled by the secondary
domain controller. Everything appears to be normal and I
can verify that indeed the secondary domain controller is
NOW the operations master, infrastructure master, etc
etc. I would now like to rebuild the box that was the
master but I find that anytime I take it offline, no one
can log in. More over, I can't even access Active
Directory from a box that supposedly has all give PDC
roles if the old Master is offline. Apparently, there is
some configuration that still needs to be performed on
the new Master.

There are FIVE roles AND you likely need a GC (on one
more DCs.)

Make sure you can account for all 5+GCs
