I've read the previous posts, but haven't found anything yet. I have two
clients on a large network experiencing a problem. We have Novell with the
desktop OS being Win2K Pro. The problem being that logging in is fine for
the Novell portion, all Novell items being seen and usable. However, a
windwo pops up saying a domain controller could not be contacted. I've
disabled and re-enabled the NICs for both. Any ipconfig /release says the IP
already has been released and ipconfig /renew just sits there and fianlly
says DHCP server couldn't be contacted. Numerous users on the same subnet
contact DHCP just fine. I finally assigned static IPs to both machines and
the correct DNS and WINS addresses and everything works fine, but I want them
on DHCP. Any suggestions?
