Domain assessment tools

Hello,

I need to visit a client for a few weeks as they are requesting a fully
documented layout of their existing NT 4.0 domain. They have hundreds of
remote branch offices and are also requesting a breakdown of their security
from a Windows standpoint. Can anyone recommend some utilities/tools to
use? has anyone had to take on a similar engagement.

I'm currently in the middle of migrating users on multiple sites in the uk, canada, South Africa and europe. Before I started I needed to know what was out there. I used a tool from Quest.com called fastlane reporter. It produces reports on users, permissions, security hotfixes, computers etc. Not sure if that's what you are looking for as it does cost

You may want to evaluate the capabilities of the Microsoft Baseline Security
Analyzer tool. It has extensive reporting capabilities and helps to manage
security throughout the enterprise.
