Domain and Local User account differences?

There seems to be a variety of software out there that happily runs if the
user is a Local account and a member of Local Administrators, but doesn't
run if the user is a Domain account and a member of Local Administrators.

Anyone have any ideas what could be different about them?

I don't know how common this is, but I've run into a few cases where the
problem involved NTFS permissions for a folder used by the program.

Are you saying there can be an ACE that says it's OK for local accouts but
not domain accounts? Remember the ACE is most likely referring to
BUILTIN\Administrators rather than specific users.
