dollars and hours

i am trying to create a employee schedule using the
schedule in hours formating. I need to compare the total
hours with a budget. The budget is in genral number and
dollar formats and the schedule is in hour format so how
do i set it up or convert hours in to dollars or general
number and vice versa.

Ex:

if i have scheduled hours of 1290:00<---hours
but budgeted hours of 1190.00<---general number or
dollars
it would tell me (100.00) or
(100:00)

any help would be great.

you can use a formula like
=A1*24*dollar_per_hour
where A1 stores your scheduled hours
