i have downloaded and reinstalled the beta version two
times. each time it will run a scan at the appointed
times at night, and it does pick up spyware. originally
it found 15 spyware items but now it only finds 14.
wondering why it still finds them, huh? because when i
click on the prompt to take action, it doesn't do
anything. it does not allow me to take any action. and
when i choose to run a manual scan, it just sits there and
does nothing. my lavasoft seems to be more friendly than
this stuff. any help out there. this is the first
message group i have ever entered, so i am not sure if i
am doing this right. any help?

If you are encountering problems scanning the registry it
could be due to the fact that thie current release has
problems when scanning registry keys that have had their
security removed by a piece of spyware. Running another
anti-spyware application seems to help deal with these
types of keys.

Also, if you seem to have problems removing the same
infections day after day, I'd suggest booting into Safe
Mode (press F8 before Windows screen during boot/reboot)
and select the option that only states Safe Mode. NOTE:
You might have to press F8 again to get to the advanced
options screen. Run a full system scan with both MSAS
and Ad-Aware, just don't run both at the same time.
NOTE: Remove the infections in one before running the
scan with the other application.

Get HijackThis.exe from
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe

Save it to C:\hjt (new folder) then Open it and select
Scan and Save Log. Note where you saved the log then send
it to Ron Kinner as an attachment. He can probably
identify the problem and tell you how to get rid of it for
good.

Ron email address. (e-mail address removed)
He will tell you what to do next. Put Hijack in the
subject so he will know it's not spam.
