Ken--that's just plain wrong. I know from experience that Microsoft
Antispyware recognizes and cleans some variants of at least two of that
list, from direct experience.
There are a number of possibilities here: You may have different/newer
variants than the ones I've seen detected and cleaned. You may have a virus
or trojan in place--we've seen an example of this in these groups in the
last few days.
I don't want to sound like an apologist--the program is clearly not cleaning
your machine, and denying that it is incompetent doesn't help you.
Things that you can do to help Microsoft and Microsoft Antispyware:
1) submit a tools, suspected spyware report (apologies if you have already
said that this function fails on your system!)
2) try doing a full, deep scan in safe mode. Agreed that this should not be
necessary, but realistically, in the current state of the beta, it helps.
If you really want help getting this system clean (I'm not clear on that--I
know you are trying to give good feedback about the state of Microsoft
Antispyware, but is this also a real-world cleaning situation?)--you can use
the system explorers yourself to block suspect or unknown objects in the
various categories available--or you can avail yourself of Ron Kinner's
offers of HijackThis log analysis. The first of these requires considerable
expertise, and still won't clean all threats, perhaps including those you've
listed--not certain. The second is not only non-Microsoft, but involves
trusting "gasp" a volunteer who is offering help. Some folks feel that's a
length they aren't willing to go to in a given situation--it's up to you.
