Does your mouse pointer move all on it's own?

I had a problem with my mouse pointer just a bit ago. It started with a
install of ATI drivers 7.12 which disabled Aero on my XT800 GTO agp. When I
ran the performance app, both my graphics ratings were 1.0, where with 7.8
drivers it was Desktop -5.9, Gaming-4.9. By the way, if you own a ATI AGP
based card, don't bother with any drivers newer then 7.8 including the ones
you can get from Vista Update. AGP support has been discontinued in drivers
newer the 7.8! :(
Ok back to what happened, I restored and Aero came back, but my mouse
pointer kept moving upwards, even with the mouse unpluged from the USB port.
I googled and no luck. I then on a hunch, went to the Performance app, and
sure enough it still showed 1.0 for my graphics. Ran the app to update my
score, and it showed the previous amounts, and the mouse stopped moving right
away.
I think becasue the desktop is now a 3D graphic in Vista instead of 2D in
all the other versions of windows, that all sorts of funny/wierd desktop
behaviour can be linked to the drivers installed, and how Vista's API is
working with said driver.

With regard to your statement "AGP support has been discontinued in drivers
newer the 7.8! :(" ,
I do not believe this to be true. ATI will be bringing to market an AGP
version of one of their latest cards, the HD 3850 which supports DX10.1.
Many parts of a driver won't even know or care is the interface is PCI
express, PCI express version 2, or AGP, so there doesn't seem to be a good
reason to drop driver support for AGP based video cards.
