Hi All,

NuBee here! I hope someone can shed a little light on a problem that I am experiencing as well as a couple of my friends. I checked the Forum but did not see any solutions . . .

Whilst digging out some old files to give to a friend, I tried to copy them onto a floppy disk because of their size, and was immediately met with a dialogue box that read: A: is not accessible. Incorrect function

No matter waht I do, it would appear that my A: drive has somehow been made obsolete. Has this happened to anyone else? More importantly, did you manage to fix it?

Thanks in advance . . .

I take it you have checked to make sure all cables are inserted correctly, including power?

Can you transfer from the drive to PC?

Have you tried another disk?

Is the anti delete tab on the disk in the correect position

Sorry I stopped using floppy drives years ago, so lots of simple questions that need to be checked upon

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies . . .

Firstly, TriplexDread, yes . . . I started out by going through the whole set-up to see if the odd wire/connection could have been the cause. I also tried different disks. Interestingly, I attempted to format a disk which seemed initially to be working and then crashed at about 80%. I then tried it through the 'old ways' . . . MSDos, and that failed also!

Secondly, muckshifter, interesting . . . I do have INCD installed but I don't know how . . . and alarmingly my CD/RW drive is also gubbed at present. What is/does INCD do?

Again, many thanks guys.

What is/does INCD do ...
It is part of Nero ... it's an integrated packet writing software, it provids simple drag and drop or direct save options to your CD burner ... and can screw a system up. ;)

Un-install it via Add & Remove Programs ... :thumb:
