Question:
Does Windows XP Pro SP2 have a command that will allow me to create CAB
files? If so, what is the command and syntax to create one?

Thanks

No, WinXP SP2 has no such capability. I don't know of any Microsoft
operating system that has ever had that capability built-in.

XP includes the Makecab.exe utility to create cabinet files.

Go to this website:
JSI Tip 8137. How can I create a cabinet file (.CAB) in Windows 2000 and later?:
http://www.jsifaq.com/SF/Tips/Tip.aspx?id=8137

This page shows some of the basic commands for creating a cabinet file.
Near the bottom of the page, click the Makecab.doc link. This will download the cadsdk.exe file. Double click the file and extract the Users Guide documents to an empty folder.

As an alternate, go to Start / Run and type: cmd and press OK to start the command emulator. Type makecab /? and press ENTER to see the help file with all of the commands.
