does windows have a maxamiun amount of ram it can heandle or is it just
detimed by the motherboard

A 32 bit S can address a maximum of 4 GB RAM, but the mobo
and BIOS may limit the usable RAM to a lesser amount.

2^32=4294967296

A 64 bit OS can handle 2^64=18446744073709551616, more than
enough to make money the issue.

At a dollar GB, if I did the math correctly, it would cost
$17,179,869,184 or over 17 Billion dollars for the RAM.

A bit under 4gb. Very few boards allow more than this anyway.

With a 32-bit version of Windows, you are limited to something less than 4GB.
And, that something less is a rather big bite; maybe 3/4s of a GB, leaving
you with 3-1/4 GBs of usable RAM after paying for the whole 4GB.
