Does Windows XP have a kind-of "Speed Disk"?

My new version of Norton (Internet Security) doesn't seem
to have "speed disk" or "One Button Fix", I'm happy to
pay for them but is there one in the XP home edition
package?

Right-click on a drive, Properties, Tools, and use the tools for error
checking and defragmentation. There is no scheduling feature in the
Windows-provided defragmenter. My understanding is that the defragmenter in
Windows XP is a dumbed down version of Diskeeper. The full version of
Diskeeper probably has scheduling. I've also heard of PerfectDisk from
Raxco. Both have trial downloads.

The defrag utility is indeed a light version of Diskeeper from Executive
Software.
Start|Run|Type cmd|OK|At the command line type: defrag c: -v

Spaces are single spaces. Change drive letter where necessary. The -v switch
is optional, for verbose output.

Thanks very much that's a lot of help - John C
