Does Windows Update Service(s) trigger Dial-up to ISP?

In this respect it's no different from any other Internet-aware app. It will
trigger dialling if you have automatic dialling set ON, and no other route to
the Internet is visible. Whether you get a warning depends on the dialling
settings.

Thanks for the info'
Your concept 'internet-aware' app was very helpful (versus msft Internet
Options talking only about IE); I now realize that all 'aware' apps will
trigger Dial-up.
Your teaching is appreciated.
