do you mean that you have two child domains? or 2 organisational units?

in the two sub-AD?

Katherine,
Good question. I would ass/u/me that Stefan means two
child domains. However, you know what happens when you
assume! ;-) I have made that mistake when answering
posts and took "the next logical step" ( like assuming
that Exchange 2000 was involved - maybe it was, maybe it
wasn't - and answering the question with that in mind )
and was blown out of the water!
Anyway, if you have three domains ( mydomain.com,
child01.mydomain.com and child02.mydomain.com ) then you
can have the same user account in all three domains. You
just need to ensure that all three do not have the same
UPN. This would be the one thing that would prevent this
from working.
If you have two OUs inside of one domain then you can not
have the same user account in both OUs.
Might I ask what you are trying to accomplish with this?
Or is it just a "point of fact" question?
If you are going where I think you are going ( see, here
comes that ass/u/me thing again ) then you might want to
take a look at Active Directory Migration Tool ( ADMT
v2 ). This could be of great help to you.

Cary
