Does the NTFS disk check maintain a log of its actions?

When my computer runs a disk check prior to starting up the Win2K O/S, it
sometimes reports problems such as corrupt files and indexes. In many
cases, the disk check deletes the corrupt files.

The problem is that the information appears so quickly and briefly that I
can't read them properly, so I don't know which files were found with
problems and possibly deleted. These problems are not listed in my Win2K
Event Log.

Does disk check maintain a log of the problems found and actions taken? The
disk check is done on an NTFS volume.

Basically, no, it doesnt. There is a log option for chkdsk but I have never
seen it produce anything of actual use. It is something I would like to see
implemented in the future though.

The CHKDSK log should be listed in your event log.

Check the Application log for
Source: Winlogon
Event ID: 1001

Thank you.

That was very useful information. Now I know where to look to find the
files that were corrupted or deleted.
