Hi,

I wanna buy memory for my PC. I tried this crucial.com that told me the
exact memory I need (PC3200). but I found a cheaper memory kingston at
eBuyer. It's PC3200 and seems compactible in every way, only it says Speed:
PC3200 - 400Mhz. The other one @ crucial.com only says PC3200.

Would they be the same? I have this PC Wizard installed in my machine that
tells stuff about the pc's hardware and it says that the supported Mhz for
memory in my Pc are 166Mhz and 200Mhz. So I'm guessing I can use a 400mhz
one, only not in its full speed. Am I correct in saying this? Are these 2
memories the same anyway?

Thanks for your ever-precious advice!

I would suggest that you post your motherboard to be
safe......................

Go to the website of the manufacturer of the PC and check with them for what kind of memory chips that you need to use or the manual that came with the PC should have this information. There are many variables when you add RAM to the PC. Some motherboards only allow matching pairs to be installed. In other words, if you already have a 512MB stick, you may only be able to install another, matching 512MB stick. If you want more RAM, you may need to purchase 2, 1GB sticks, if the motherboard even allows this much RAM to be installed.
