Hello,
ok ,here's my case. My HD was toasted and i had an EFS ancrypted backup of some data in an external drive. Naturally now they are inaccessible (or are they not?). My acer laptop came with an installation disk smg like a ghost image of Windows Home Edition which i then upgrated to Professional edition from where i did the encryption. Well, my question is this: if i install the system from that disk and make the same user i had done back then, will i have access to my encrypted files? I reapeat that im not talking about a fresh install of Windows but for an image. Then does upgrading to W.Professional changes smg (that is, if yes, should i do the exact steps i did?)
Any help is greatly appreciated since i have no clue how to reach my old encrypted files! (i know i should have backed up the certificates but now it's too late..)
Thanx!
