System Check (running from my ATI graphics card
configuration utility) now reports that my processor does
not support MMX. Yet it is a Pentium 4 1700Mhz.

what has gone wrong, and what do I do?

Many thanks

Hi, Robin.

Yeah, it complains about my AMD Athlon XP 2000+, too. The problem is that
ATI has been too busy designing and selling the next graphics board to
bother with cleaning up the support for the older ones.

My AIW Radeon 9000 Pro works much better than the System Check does. With
or without MMX. ;<)

Do a google. I am pretty sure that MMX Technology is outdated
with the P4's

i called ati for my card 9600 wonder pro the tech told me that was a glitch in software not working right they were rewriting software to correct problem I am running a pentium p-4 and got same message

Hi, Pat.

Thanks for the report. I've assumed something like that, so I haven't
worried about it, but it's satisfying (somehow) to get confirmation that ATI
knows about it and will fix it someday. Maybe.
