I just wanted to know does Movie Maker come with Windows Vista? I am
considering upgrading to Vista from XP could someone fill me in on the system
requirements? I am using Movie Maker Version 5.1 does a higher version come
with Vista? Also does Microsft have any programs available for sell that are
similar to Movie maker but maybe slightly more advanced? Perhaps able to make
MPEG files and capable of saving to a DVD?

Vista has what you want.... see the Vista section of my website... check the
intro page for which versions of Vista have what features.

I have one other issue, I purchase another video editing and video burning
program but I had this problem with it, it cannot save the captured video
clips as a movie file, I contacted this program's (Roxio Easy Media Creator)
technical support and i was told that my video card is too old. For some
reason I sort of found this hard to beleive because of the fact that movie
maker is able to make the video files. However sometimes I prefer to have the
finished product as a MPEG. My video card is a NVIDIA Geforce 6150. Would you
know what the most recent card is, and what would it cost to have a
technician install it for me?

sorry, can't help with that one.... I never upgrade video cards and follow
what's the latest. Maybe someone else will help.

I don't know anything about the particular
video adapter you are using but nVidia
frequently updates their drivers. And I
cannot guarantee that a new driver will
solve your issues with Roxio but I think it
would be worth a try.

The following driver is dated Nov. 2, 2006...
is that any newer than your current driver?

ForceWare Release 90: Version: 93.71
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html
(if you click "Products Supported" in the left
pane, you'll find your Geforce 6150 in the list)

Also...be sure to follow nVidia's instructions
on how to install the new driver.

On another note...if you are interested in Vista...
you can go to the following site and download
the "Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor". Once
downloaded and installed...you can run it to
determine if your computer is capable of
running Vista.

I had an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 video card (about 3 years old in a Sony
system) with a 2002 driver and it worked with all versions of Roxio's Video
Wave without any problems. I have use the versions from Easy Media Creator
versions 6, 7, 7.5 and 8. Version 9 told me that my video driver was out of
date. Still ran with no problem once I clicked on OK for the outdated
driver message. Once updated no problems. If you are having problems, I
recommend that you update the video driver with the driver at this location
and try again. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html Make sure
you read all the instructions about installing new Nvidia drivers. They
recommend that you uninstall (Add/Remove programs in Control Panel) anything
from Nvidia installed there.
