See my prev. post.

I cannot get titles to work at all on 2 differnt machines.

Does anybody have it working on XP Pro, if so any ideas why it fails
for me?

Ian

Sorry you're still having problems. I'll check up with our test team
tomorrow and see if they managed to repro this problem internally and I'll
get back to you.

Hi Dean,

Many thanks. As I said previously, it won't let me add titles and
there are no animation effects available. Just let me know if you
need further details - xp pro , sp1

It is nothing to do with XP PRO, you may be experiencing the
"effects/transtions missing syndrome" which is reported to occur more and
more.

The cause is still unknown but suspicion lies on spyware or spyware removal
activity causing the relevant DLLs registration to go haywire.

There is no proper resolution of the problem either. Reinstalling latest
versions of DirectX, Media Player, Media encoder and Move Maker may help in
some situations but not always... A potentially dangerous but sure-shot
resolution is to install the preview release of Windows XP SP2 which is
known to resolve the issue. Note that it for information only and is not a
recommendation to apply SP2 on a novice user machine... mainly because SP2
is not released for public yet. However it is progressed from a beta release
to "technical preview" and is termed "Release Candidate 2".

Your title crashing issue is something else and most probably caused by a
codec conflict. Locate and read up the messages about crashes etc and advice
from PapaJohn/John Kelly and others to resolve it.
