Does linked video play within the slide?

I'm just beginning to learn to work with video with an Office application.
Okay PPT does not embed video which is okay with me. What I want to know is
if the video which is linked will playback within the slide?

For example if a slide is displayed on a touchscreen and a person touches
the link to watch the video what happens next?

Maybe you want to convert your movies format to avi, mpeg and wmv, and
then you can insert these files to PowerPoint because PowerPoint
presentations only understand these formats. I am right. This is a
