I have an LCD monitor and an "older" computer. I have an adapter on
my computer to go from video out to VGA(?) out. When I get my new
computer with a new video card, should I go from the Digital out to
the Digital input on the monitor, or does it make a difference?

Thanks
Ron

Kind of depends on the lcd monitor. I have
an X924 Viewsonic monitor that is really fast
( 4msec ), but vga input to it generates dark
crappy colors. Digital input to it is nice and
bright with good color. Then I have a bunch
of just vga lcd monitors that look great to
me. Last I have a Viewsonic 2025W wide
screen lcd monitor, and I have more resolution
settings using digital. Try both and see.

Always go with digital if you can, it is technically more elegant. A set of
numbers representing the image is sent directly to your monitor via dvi, why
convert it back and forth (analog/digital)?

Using DVI provides you much better quality. If you have DVI on monitor and
on video card, use that solution. If you have not DVI on computer, you can
use adapter DVI(monitor)>>>VGA(video card). But in that way, quality is
worse than in first solution. If you use VGA>>VGA, that is the worst
solution. The point is, take DVI, if you can, without any adapters if you
want the best
