Does HP LaserJet 2600n work with plain Windows 98?

According to the specs from www.hp.com, the drivers shipped with 2600n
only support Win98 SE and beyond.

Anybody with the experience of using it with plain Win98? Wonder if
this is just another "working but not officially supported" case.

Thanks.

Win98SE was the first OS to include USB support so you gotta ask
yourself if the connector is a USB type. If it is you aren't going to
get the printer to work unless there's some converter out there.

Of course it could still work as it's a network compatible printer but
only if you try connecting to it using the network and assuming the
drivers will even install..

The first Windows version to include USB support is Windows 95 OSR2.

Have you tried to install the drivers and they refused to install? Or
are you just checking beforehand?

If HP's drivers won't install, you could see if some other driver for
an older model will work.
