I know my Home Premium SP1 does but not sure about the "plain" Home
Premium edition.

Someone asked why I want to know this. It's for a desktop software
installation onto such Vista OS.

Thanks, folks.

I believe it's an optional component, added from the Programs and Features
applet in the Control Panel.

So, it sounds like for the "plain" Home Premium, .NET Framework 3.x is
not installed by default, odd though imho because many MS application
installation would require it? Or possibly .NET Framework 3.x is
automatically triggered upon need? Thks for your input.

..net framework ships with all Vista. According to Nick Doty (MSFT),
"Windows Vista includes .Net 2.0 and .Net 3.0, so you shouldn't need to
install any additional packages to run .Net 2.0 or 3.0 applications on
Vista."

Framework 3.5 usually included in CD versions of applications which
require it. It also available as free download. Most applications uses
just v. 2 components and libraries.
