Frontpagers:

Q. Should the site brought in live to my HD look the same as on the
web? (FP extensions were used on the site)

I attempted a live update from a site published with FP using
extensions from a new ISP that took over from my old. He claims to
have installled the extensions. [it may be an Apache site] When it
appeared on my HD, all the link bars and background color were
missing. Any ideas of what would cause this? Or is this normal and
updates should not be done live if extensions are used.

You must be opening the web directly in FP via http://www.domainname.com and
it should look the same.

When the new host took over from your old host, how did your website get
moved to the new host, did they transfer the physical server or did they
just transfer the web sites, if they transferred the websites, how did they
transfer the websites?

In order for the web that are transferred to work when FP extensions are
involved, the websites need to be published via FP to the new server or the
websites would need to be backed up and then restored on the new server
using a backup software application.

Thanks for help.

If it doesn't look the same what could be the possible reasons? Could
it mean the new ISP does not really support FP? [ Is there a way to
really tell?]

John,

If you can open the site as indicated, then the FP extensions are installed.

However the issue is how was the site moved to the new host.
