Peter

I have been having trouble with ICS on 2 XP Pro Machines, the client
computer cannot access the internet. I have checked everything I can think
of but still cannot find a cure! I was browsing through the system log in
the event viewer I find this same event each time I turn on the host
computer and was wondering if anyone out there might be able to tell me what
this all means, I have copied this from the Help and support screen.
many thanks
Peter

This probably won't keep ICS from working, but it would keep the Internet
Gateway Functionality from working.

1. Right click My Computer, Manage
2. Goto Services and Applications, Services in the left pane
3. In the right pane, right click on Universal Plug and Play Device Host
and select properties
4. Make sure the service is set to startup type "Manual"
5. Go to the Log on tab.
6. Make sure it is enabled in each hardware profile.
