Does anyone know what svchost is?

I have it running 3 or 4 times in the background (Win XP Task Manager).
Also - how many times shoudl rundll32 be running? Thanks in advance

It's perfectly normal to have several instances of Svchost.exe
running simultaneously.

But make sure you don't have things like 'svhost.exe' which may be due to a
virus.
