The Welcome Screen will display unread mail in Outlook Express. Are you
using Outlook Express with your new Internet Service Provider?

Hi!
Here is the solution.
1) Open the Windows XP registry.
2) Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail
3) Find and select the subkey corresponding to your old email account.
4) Double-click on the "MessageCount" value.
5) Set it to 0 (zero).
The count from your old email account will have stopped on next startup.
