I use ScreenPaver and I LOVE it! The unregistered version is free but
the full version is only $10....worth it!

Look for a news group called alt.binaries.screen-savers
there's always good screensavers posted there

http://www.ati.com/developer/screensavers.html includes a couple of screen
savers made by ATI, designed to showcase various chips. Totally free.
Installs various start menu shortcuts and shit, but this is easily cleaned
up. The biggest bummer is that there is a sticker on the saver with the logo
for whatever card it was designed for, regardless of what card you actually
run it on. Probably your best bet if you really want to showcase your
hardware.

http://www.reallyslick.com/ has a handful of no-nonsense open source OpenGL
3D screen savers. Not very advanced, but very configurable, and some really
nice effects can be achieved if you take the time to experiment. Some of
these also work well on older hardware.

http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~gstitt/motionpicture/ is not really 3D, but uses your
graphics card to resize, zoom and crossfade images extremely smooth, making
it far more interesting for a screen saver slide show than the crappy 80's
wipe effects commonly associated with slide shows under Windows.
