XP doesn't support distinctive ring. I have a unimodem
that is supposed to support dist. ring. Now in 98SE,
dist. ring was supported. Is there anything to work
around this? If I change modems, will that fix the
problem? I have winfax and a DSL line and it is useless
without dist. ring.

I can't seem to find anyone who can answer this
definatively.

DUH!!!

1. I know winfax is a symantec product you putz! The
problem is XP which doesn't support it.

2. You can fax over a DSL line if you have two numbers
and a filter on the phone line.

3. If you aren't knowledgebale and can't be helpful and
civil don't waste your time or mine posting.

I know of two third party fax applications that overcome this problem:

FaxTalk Messenger Pro
www.pigeonline.com
Pigeon Mail n Fax

....and here are a couple hardware solutions:

Emerson Switchboard

ComSwitch®
