Does anyone have a Grants Tracking Database in Access to share?

Have you tried the Microsoft.com website for templates?

Have you tried using an online search engine?

Are you looking for a "ready-to-use" "Grants Tracking" application? If so,
how do you know that what someone else has designed for their specific
situation comes anywhere close to your needs?

okay, i'll expose my ignorance - because curiosity is killing me! <g>
Jeff, what the heck is Grants Tracking?

As a spouse of a former professor... you're Very Lucky That You Have No Need
to Know. <g>

Academic research is funded by grants (government or sometimes private). The
granting agencies' accountants make Ebenezer Scrooge look like Santa Claus,
and require that every speck of dust on the grant application be accounted
for.

My day job is with a state agency, which both pays contractors and receives
(and re-distributes) grant monies. Grant AND Contract Tracking is a way to
manage the process from initial drafts through "end-date"/final payment.

okay, guys, thanks for the info. but i have to say, what a letdown. here i
was, envisioning some kind of ultra-cool tracking system dreamed up by an
uber programmer named - of course - Grant!! ;)

tina

That would be way too general/generic ... tracking what?

Nope, the real (behind the curtain) explanation is that this is a tracking
system, much like the radio collars for big game, used in keeping tabs on
Grant.

Right now, this is easily managed, as his location is fairly fixed and he
doesn't get out much.

As a non-profit we search foundations to receive grants to fund our programs.
THis can be a long process. First you reserach and see if you qualify, then
apply nad wait for a response. If your application is approved you are
awarded the grant. In some cases it may not be the same amount you asked for
and sometimes they require a progress report to show what you did with the
money you got. Of course all of this has deadlines and we apply between
150-200 grants per operationg year. And there are also time we get denied and
we want to make sure we track that so we don't ask that foundation again.

I have and I worked with the Customer services DB in Access and changed it a
bit but it's missing some elements like tracking funds requested and funds
awarded. I know I can make it work, I just wanted to avoid the many hours
updating and changing reports, forms and tables.

Thanks though

In addition to searching for Grant Tracking, you may consider searching on
Fund Accounting.
Fund Accounting is an accounting application specifically configured for Non
Profits to track donations (grants), expenses, etc.

BTW, Grant is not that great a programmer :)

Don't take that for Granted, though.
