Does any one know the number of slides limit for PPT 2007

I have a PPT 2007 file that has over 600 slides file size close to 250 M ( I
know it's big). When I try to save this file as PPS it stops at 580. Is
this the limit of the number of slides recognized or is there some corruption
on the file there.
