I use IE6 and Firefox for web browsing, and on certain
sites (ig yahoo.com) i can't seem to view the ads on both
browsers. i don't have any web-ads blocking software
installed or anything, microsoft anti-spy is the only
anti-spyware software i'm using.

No--it doesn't have any facility to block sites. You can use tools,
advanced tools, system explorers to see whether there are entries in the
HOSTS file other than the localhost entry.

If there are, Microsoft Antispyware did not put them there.

ads can also be blocked by a missing program (say flash or any other way to
escape blocking strategies).

True, and I turn off flash most of the time, myself. Microsoft Antispyware
doesn't provide any automatic way to do these things either, though.
