It's just an AIWR no number after it. (;-)
Antway I recently upgraded to Roxio Media Creator 7 from Roxio 6. Whenever I
try to use Videowave it just locks up and doesn't do anything when I get to
the rendering stage. I posted this on a newsgroup on the Roxio website.
Someone else posted the same type of problem. One reply said that some older
video cards have a problem with the latest Directx. He didn't specify the
AIWR. He just through it out. Well, is there a problem with the AIWR?

My AIW 7200 (original model) did not like DX9 when running Win9x. Switching
to XP all was well.

Whenever
I have never had problems with a couple of Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO cards, which
are 7200s, with any DirectX version up to and including DX 9.0b, under
W98SE and on three different mobos.

However, I have to say I became less than impressed with Roxio's offerings,
and had an horrendous time with the uninstall when I decided to dump it. My
tuppenceworth would be to look at Roxio as the likely cause of problems.

roxio screws up systems no matter what app it seems they are creating
drivers for.

My problem with DX9 under Win9x was I lost the ability to wake my monitor
from sleep mode. Also speed was down compared with earlier versions of DX in
Win9x.

I'm using a 7200 under both 98SE and XP in dual-boot system. Running latest
Cat 4.3's and DX9.0b on both OS's.

Clearly 98SE is superior for running games, always able to handle at least
one "notch" of resolution higher than under XP while leaving all the eye
candy as is.
