Does Access 2007 support coding multi-threaded processes?

I need to run some clean-up processes in my application behind the scenes,
triggered by user actions. I couldn't do this in prior versions of Access.
I'm hoping that there is a way in Access 2007, either in VB or via ActiveX
objects. Can anyone point me in the direction of how-to info? The Office
2007 help info doesn't help.

Why couldn't you do this before?

I very much doubt that there is anything new in this area in A2007.
From what I've seen MS made most of their changes in the A2007 to meet
the needs of the Information Worker rather than the Developer.
