Documents stuck in print queue

Mike

I was using remote desktop connection from my home PC,
and printed a bunch of documents to my work PC. The
documents didn't print, they are sitting in the print
queue with a status of "sent to printer". New documents
sent to the printer print immediately, even documents
sent from a remote desktop session. Resuming or
restarting the documents has no effect.

How do I get these documents to print?

Thanks!!

I assume you mean that documents are stuck in the print queue on your
printer at work. In my experience when that happens the way to clear them is
to open the Services module and turn off Print Spooler, then turn it back
on. With the queue cleared, you can try to print them again.

You are correct, they are stuck in the print queue on the
work machine. Unfortunately, these are some process logs
that can't be reprinted or recreated, if I clear the
queue I lose the docs.

Mike: There is a box you can check then gives what order documents are printed in. Which ones first, etc. I'm not sure, but on my printer, when I order a document printed, the printer screen comes up and ask how many copies, etc. I believe it might be there.
I have a question: Do you know any way to avoid printing a document without all the pictures and ads on the sides and the Internet address line, etc? I have tried to highlight, like just a paragraph on a document, I hit crtl (P) and can never just get the paragraph. I get the entire screen which waste ink. Any suggestions are appreciated. Linda

If you're talking about printing text only from a Web page, here's what I
do. Select All, Copy, then open a Word document and use Edit | Paste
Special | Unformatted Text. Then print the Word document. It involves a few
extra steps, but it works.
My printer offers (after Ctrl+P) the option to Print Selection. I've never
tried it with text copied from a Web page, but I imagine that would work
too.
