Re: XP Home, SP2

Under D&S, I have 3 "users":
- All Users
- Brooks (me)
- Toshiba

In CP, there is only Brooks as admin. There is Guest, but not used.
There is NO Toshiba.

I see that Windows is writing cookies into the Toshiba folder.

1. Why is there a Toshiba folder and why is Windows using it?
2. How can I get rid of it?
3. Does Windows think Brooks or Toshiba is logged on?

Any other help appreciated.

you'll find the local user Toshiba under menu my computer (right click
my computer for menu\manage\local users and groups\users), probably
local admin account renamed.
Before you login to XP if you hold ctrl + alt and hit del key twice
you' ll find your local admin account

You're right, there is a Toshiba account under My Computer, Properties,
Advanced, User Profiles, Settings - there is Toshiba!

But if you look under Control Panel, users - there is no Toshiba user.
How can that be?

Its user Brooks that is logging onto Windows. Where does Toshiba come
from?

How can I safely get rid of it?

Toshiba account can be the built-in administrator account.

When I look in User Accounts in CP, Brooks is the Computer
Administrator. There is no Toshiba.
