Hi Claire,
There is a setting in Group Policy that you can configure that determines how many
shortcuts the system can display in the Documents menu on the Start menu.
If you are not the sole administrator of your standalone computer please talk to your
Administrator. Else, run the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) and look for the
"Maximum number of Recent documents" policy located in:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer
