Check your settings here:
Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right pane under Userinit - Change the key that reads:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe
To:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,

And also here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows.
In the right pane, check your settings under Load.

This problem can be caused by a Trojan virus.

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going
edit > new.

Hi August,

Is there a comma after exe? If not, add it. Other checkpoints:

This problem can be caused by the DlDer Trojan. More information here:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.dlder.html

Go to Start/Run/Regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look here for the program/folder in question. If listed, double click the
entry and put the full path name in quotes. And Verify that all the values
in these keys do not contain any incorrect, incomplete, or null entries
(such as "").

If none of the above applies run the small utility on line 261 and post the
log file here: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Thank you Kelly,
I had the DIDer Trojan. By removing it the Startup is
normal now.
Thank you again,
