i recently changed my windows user name and my pc name on
the network, and everything works fine. the only problem
is that the folder c:/documents and settings/XYZ, where
XYZ is my (hypothetical) old user name, still hasn't
changed to my new (hypothetical) user name of ABC.

when i tried to change the name of the folder manually,
it said that it was a system folder and i cannot rename
it. so is there any way that i can rename it to ABC
without affecting how my programs run, and how my files
are saved and accessed.

and oh yeh, C: is my hard drive. everything is installed
here (including windows.) and i run win xp home.

There is not safe way to rename the userprofiles folder name. You can create
a new profile instead, and copy user data to that profile.
