Documentation in Access?

Hi,

I have an Access db and I would like to do the program documentation within
the db and be printable. I tried doing it in "reports" using Label boxes
and inserting pictures. After I inserted a "Page Break" my label box on the
second page became a box only an inch wide. No matter what I tried it would
not change. If I take out the page break it's fine when it's on the first
page.

Is there a better way to do documentation within the db? Can one import a
Word document into the db? I want everything to be within the db and not
require any other software other than Access.

Any ideas will be welcomed.

Thanks

You might put your documentation inside a module in which all the code is
commented out.

Hi Lynn,

I don't know what you mean by in a module. I thought that a module was just
a collection of functions. How would you do documentation with text and
graphics in a module?

Thanks,

A module typically contains functions and procedures. However, if you
comment out all lines in the module, it is a perfect place to store your
documentation. It does have the limitation of being purely text, though. If
you need graphics, then you might put that in a Word document and store a
link to it in a table with a single field.

Why not use HTML? OK, so it's not 'within the database', but it's just a
hyperlink or button-click away. And it does require a browser, but who
doesn't have a browser installed these days?
