I still use Word 97 but have just discovered an 'annoyance'. When I view a
documents properties dates (such as Created and Printed) they are in d mmm
yyyy format. However when I choose to print the properties dates are shown
as Month followed by 2 digit year only. What has happened the day? I
cannot see any options for setting up the format of the Properties box.
Any help/advice will, as usual, be much appreciated.

This might depend on your default short date or long date format as set in
Windows Regional Options.

No, ma'am. Regional settings set to dd mmm yyyy for long date and dd mm
yyyy for short date.
But thanks for your reply anyway.

In that case it's just another of the "Word annoyances" we all love so much.

You ain't not goin' to believe this (or perhaps you will) - but today when I
printed Document properties lo and behold day month and year are all
showing!!! I stand in awe of your influence. Don't know how you do it - but
thanks again.
More seriously, still on the subject of Document Properties - in the Custom
Tab what format should I use when entering date data. Whatever form I use
is rejected with error message "value entered does not match with the
specified type". The date is however taken as text. I have tried every
format of date I can think of.

I believe that one does have to match your specified Short Date format in
Regional Options; at least that seems to be true in form fields.

Thanks again, Suzanne. I have now pinpointed the problem. In my Regional
setting for short date I had a 'space' as the separator instead of a "/" or
a "-". Just goes to show how very sensitive Word can be (not to mention
Word users!).
As ever I am grateful to you for all the advice and help you provide through
this and other NGs.
