Document not Saved message

Anyone encountered problem with Excel97 sheets getting
DOCUMENT NOT SAVED message? It will then tell me that a
temporary copy of the file have been saved with filename -
AA4477hhdd. The filename could be completely random.

This is occuring to a number of my spreadsheets. Any
information on this would be greatly appreciated.
