I have exactly (cut and pasted) the same command DoCmd.OpenForm "detergent"
in the on-click event of a button on a form and in the on doubleclick event
of a field in a subform. The button works the subform does not. I've done
this before with no problem.
Access 2002 SP3.

"... A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the
OLE server or Active X control"

Ideas?

Never mind. I deleted the subform and added it again and it's happy now.

Hi,

I had the same error. I had application in Czech language and I wanted to
run it in English Access.
Finally it was help following method : In operating system Windows XP CZ
with MS Office XP CZ and installed MS Access 97 CZ (without Access 97 didn’t
work subsequent conversation to Access 2000 described in further text) I
converted application to Access 97 file format. After I copied converted file
to PC with Windows XP ENG and MS Office XP ENG. Here I opened converted file
and after query I converted file to Access 2000 file format. After I moved
DAO before ActiveX in references (in Visual Basic window).
